Real Talk: Understanding, Preventing and Responding to Anaphylaxis

During this session, we will attempt to set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title! Our group will be the first to set a record related to food allergies, and if we are successful we will achieve the world record for delivering the “Largest Allergy Awareness Lesson.” We will host a discussion on understanding anaphylaxis and strategies for teens to be prepared, comfortable and confident enough to know what to do in an emergency, as well as how to talk to friends/peers to strengthen their support network should they experience a serious allergic reaction.

Topics will include an overview of food allergy and anaphylaxis, understanding associated signs, symptoms, and emergency protocol, and sharing of real life teen experiences.

This event will demonstrate to the public the importance of being educated about food allergies and anaphylaxis, and we are so excited for you to join us and be a part of this momentous occasion!
